About Adrien G.

Adrien G. Busekist built a legal foundation in Baton Rouge. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in 2000 and a J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU in 2003. Those years anchored a career spent largely in Louisiana courts and in matters that touch regional and federal practice.

After law school he pursued admission across multiple bench and bar jurisdictions. He is admitted in Louisiana and New York. He also holds admission to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Middle, Western and Eastern Districts of Louisiana, and to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Those credentials underpin work that often involves federal filings and litigation practice across state lines.

He is Senior Counsel at Kean Miller LLP. In that role he handles defense matters and law related to hospitals and health care providers. His professional affiliations reflect those interests. He is a member of the Louisiana Association of Hospital Lawyers and participates in organizations focused on civil defense.

Busekist maintains active ties to the bar and the local legal community. He belongs to the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Baton Rouge Bar Association. He is also a member of the Defense Research Institute, an organization that draws trial lawyers and in-house counsel from around the country. Within the state, he serves on the board of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel for District 1, a position that places him in regular contact with peers who handle commercial and professional liability matters.

Colleagues know him for steady courtroom work and for handling procedural and appellate filings in federal court. He has experience managing discovery, briefing dispositive motions and arguing complex issues before trial and appellate tribunals. That practical courtroom orientation shapes his approach to client work and to mentoring junior lawyers in firm settings.

Outside of litigation rooms his professional memberships point to continuing education and policy engagement. He attends bar programs and industry meetings that address risk management, sovereign and institutional liability, and evolving standards in health care law. Those activities keep him current on developing case law and procedural trends.

He practices from Kean Miller LLP and continues to handle defense litigation and health care-related legal matters in both state and federal courts.
