He earned a B.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania in 1999 and a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 2004. During that same period he joined the national American Immigration Lawyers Association. His volunteer and leadership work in Philadelphia began not long after.
Solow moved through a series of officer positions in the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He served as chapter secretary from 2009 to 2011, treasurer from 2011 to 2013, and vice president from 2013 to 2015. He was elected chapter chairman for 2015–2016. Those roles involved organizing local programs, mentoring newer attorneys, and helping coordinate educational events for practitioners in the region.
In private practice Solow has handled matters across both state and federal forums. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. His work spans family-based petitions, removal defense, adjustment of status filings, and appeals when cases move beyond immigration courts. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing filings and pragmatic in court strategy.
