About Adam J.
Adam J. Dugan built his legal foundation at the University of Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2007 and later returned to the Levin College of Law, where he received his J.D. in 2014. He also completed an estate planning certification through the University of Florida, adding a specialized credential to his academic record.
After law school, Dugan entered private practice. He joined WaveCrest Legal, P.A. and has been listed as a lawyer there since 2015. His professional memberships include the American Bar Association and the Jacksonville Bar Association. Those memberships reflect steady involvement in the profession and access to resources that support his practice.
Dugan is authorized to practice in Florida and before the Fourth Circuit. That combination of state and federal credentials allows him to handle a range of matters that may touch on both state law and federal appellate procedure. He applies his finance background to legal problems that involve numbers as well as statutes and case law.
In his day-to-day work, Dugan handles estate planning matters. He prepares wills and trust instruments, counsels clients on asset transfer strategies, and works through probate proceedings. He also deals with the practical paperwork that keeps estates and trusts operating after a principal’s death or incapacity. Clients who need clarity on beneficiary designations, guardianship issues, or the interplay between estate plans and tax considerations find those conversations central to his practice.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and detail-oriented in his file work. He is comfortable drafting complex documents and explaining them to clients who often encounter these issues for the first time. The combination of a finance degree and legal training shapes a practical approach: numbers matter, but so do client goals and family dynamics.
Outside the office, Dugan engages with bar association activities in Jacksonville and participates in continuing legal education through the American Bar Association. That activity keeps him current on changes in estate and probate law and on procedural developments that affect federal practice.
He currently practices at WaveCrest Legal, P.A., where he handles estate planning, probate, and related legal matters.
