About Adam Edward
Adam Edward Phillips built his legal foundation in the Mountain West. He earned an A.A. in General Studies from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 1996, followed by a B.A. in Political Science from Brigham Young University in 2000. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2004.
Early in his career Phillips worked in public service. In 2008 he served as Deputy County Lawyer in the Fremont County Prosecuting and County Lawyer’s Office. That role put him in the courtroom and the county courthouse on a regular basis. It also offered practical experience in county-level legal work and the demands of public-sector representation.
He moved into private practice in the following years. By 2012 he was practicing under the name Adam E. Phillips, Lawyer at Law, P.C. The transition from a government post to a solo and small-firm setting changed the daily rhythm of his work. It required the broader handling of client intake, case management, and the business side of running a law office.
Phillips is admitted to practice in Wyoming and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Those credentials have shaped the scope of the matters he handles. His time as a county lawyer provided courtroom experience; his years in private practice have added civil and transactional work to his portfolio. He has handled cases at both the trial and appellate levels, navigating procedural and evidentiary questions that arise in state and federal contexts.
Colleagues and court dockets show a lawyer who moves between public duties and private-client needs. He is a member of professional associations that keep lawyers in the state connected to ongoing developments in law and procedure. Outside the courthouse he manages the responsibilities that come with running a small firm, from client relations to filings and scheduling.
Phillips combines courtroom experience from his years as a deputy county lawyer with the varied workload of solo practice. He maintains an active presence in Wyoming legal circles and appears in matters before the Tenth Circuit when cases require it. He currently practices through Adam E. Phillips, Lawyer at Law, P.C., handling matters in Wyoming and before the Tenth Circuit.
