About Adam B.
Adam B. Cordover brings a layered academic background to his work at Family Diplomacy: A Collaborative Law Office. He studied political science, Jewish studies and international relations at the University of Florida, earning a B.A. in 1998. He then completed both a J.D. and an M.A. in International Affairs at American University and its Washington College of Law in 2004.
His early professional steps included a role as a student investigator for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employee Benefits Security Administration in 2006. That position placed him in a federal regulatory setting early in his career and exposed him to the mechanics of administrative fact-gathering and compliance review.
Cordover moved into private practice in 2009 as an associate at Richard J. Mockler, P.A. A year later he became the managing lawyer at Family Diplomacy: A Collaborative Law Office. He has been identified with that firm in managing and developing collaborative processes since 2010.
Outside of firm duties he has maintained a steady presence in professional and community organizations. He volunteered for Bay Area Legal Services beginning in 2008 and served as a Guardian ad Litem from 2009 to 2010. He was a member of the Family Law Inn of Court from 2010 to 2013 and served as president of Next Generation Divorce from 2014 to 2015. Since 2013 he has held a co-chair role on the Collaborative Family Law Council of Florida’s research committee, and since 2014 he has been a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals’ research committee.
Those roles reflect sustained engagement with collaborative practice and family law policy. He has combined courtroom-adjacent work, pro bono service and committee research to shape his contributions to the field. The mix of volunteer and committee work suggests an interest in improving procedural options for families and in advancing the study of collaborative methods.
Licensed to practice in Florida, Cordover handles collaborative family law matters, divorce cases, settlement negotiations and related family law issues. He currently practices at Family Diplomacy: A Collaborative Law Office, where his work centers on collaborative family law, negotiated settlements and other family law matters.
