About Adalbert

Adalbert Martinez moved from retail operations into law over the course of more than a decade of varied work. He began in corporate retail, handled compliance and loss-prevention responsibilities, then turned to legal study and clinic work before opening his own practice. The shift left him with an unusual mix of front-line management experience and courtroom training.

Martinez earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida Atlantic University in 2014. He later attended Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he received his J.D. in 2021. During law school he served as a teaching assistant for a health law course and worked in the school’s Debt Relief Clinic, gaining practical experience advising clients on consumer and debt issues.

Before law school he spent several years at CVS Health as a regional asset protection manager. That role put him on the operational side of compliance, loss prevention and workplace investigations. The work required coordinating with multiple stores and handling incidents that crossed legal, regulatory and business lines.

While completing his legal education he combined classroom responsibilities with clinic work. As a legal intern in the Debt Relief Clinic he assisted clients facing financial distress. He also served as a teaching assistant in 2020 for a health law course at WMU Cooley, helping students and faculty in a subject that intersects with regulatory practice and patient protection.

After passing into practice, Martinez joined Steinger, Greene & Feiner as an associate lawyer in 2022. Later that year he established The CYA LAW FIRM, PLLC and began representing clients through the firm he founded. His move into private practice followed a short, intense period of hands-on clinic work and firm-based litigation exposure.

Martinez is admitted to practice in Florida and maintains professional memberships that date to 2021. His background spans corporate risk roles and frontline legal clinics, which gives him familiarity with both business operations and individual consumer needs. He handles matters that require attention to regulatory detail and practical case management.

He currently focuses his practice on consumer debt matters and related issues, drawing on experience in debt relief clinic work, health law coursework and asset protection in the retail sector.
