About Aboubakr
Aboubakr Maaroufi earned his bachelor’s degree in legal studies from the University of Central Florida in 2010 and completed his law degree at Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2013. He emerged from law school prepared for courtroom work, having supplemented his training with a Trial Advocacy program through NITA and a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation from The Institutes.
He began his legal career in 2013 at the Ninth Circuit of Florida State Lawyers Office. That role placed him in the trenches of trial preparation and courtroom procedure early in his career. A year later he moved into private-sector litigation, joining State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company as a trial lawyer in 2014. Those early positions produced consecutive seasons of hands-on trial work and motion practice.
The combination of public and private trial experience informed his approach to case management and advocacy. He worked cases from early investigation through trial. He handled evidentiary issues, witness preparation and courtroom strategy. The NITA training reinforced practical courtroom skills and the CPCU training deepened his understanding of insurance principles and underwriting issues.
After several years litigating for an insurer and honing trial technique, he transitioned to firm practice. In 2022 he joined Bogin, Munns & Munns as an associate. That move returned him to a traditional law firm environment where casework involves collaboration with colleagues and direct client intake. At the firm he applies prior trial experience to managing litigation tasks and drafting pleadings and briefs.
Colleagues describe his courtroom manner as direct and procedural. He tends to prioritize clear pleadings and steady litigation calendars. He is comfortable handling depositions and pretrial hearings and has experience preparing matters for jury presentation. His CPCU credential and insurance litigation background make him familiar with policy interpretation and coverage analysis, and his NITA training underpins his courtroom skills.
He practices in Florida and maintains an active litigation profile. He is an associate at Bogin, Munns & Munns, where he focuses on civil litigation and insurance-related matters.
