Aaron J. Wolff is an attorney based in Washington who has combined courtroom work and private practice leadership over more than two decades. He is admitted to practice in Washington and is also a member of the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. His career has moved between roles inside law firms and running his own practice.
Wolff began his formal legal training at Seattle University School of Law, where he graduated in 1996. He completed his undergraduate studies at Emory University. Those academic foundations shaped his early approach to law and prepared him for practice at both the trial and appellate levels.
Early in his career he spent time in firm settings that offered exposure to a range of matters. In 2008 he served as of counsel at Cowan Kirk Gaston Wolff, a role that placed him alongside other experienced litigators and advisers. Two years later he took on a new stage of his career and became principal of Wolff Defense in 2010. That move put him in charge of running a practice and directing case strategy while continuing to represent clients.
Admission to the Washington bar and to the U.S. Supreme Court bar gives Wolff the credentials to appear in both state and federal forums. Over the years he has balanced the administrative demands of leading a practice with the work of preparing cases and engaging in courtroom advocacy. Colleagues and clients have seen him move between advisory roles and direct representation, handling the responsibilities that come with managing a small firm as well as those that come with individual case work.
He now concentrates his practice through Wolff Defense on client advocacy in Washington and in federal courts. He maintains a practice that reflects the variety of his professional roles: principal, counselor, and courtroom lawyer. His current work centers on representing clients from initial intake through the procedural steps that follow, while overseeing the operations of his office.
