About A. Michelle

A. Michelle West earned her Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law in 2011 after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she majored in Romance Languages (Spanish and Italian) and minored in chemistry, receiving her B.A. in 2003. The combination of language study and science gave her a practical, detail-oriented approach to legal work.

She began her legal career in 2011 as a trial lawyer at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. In that role she worked on litigation arising from automobile claims and handled courtroom matters for the insurer. That early experience established her comfort in contested proceedings and everyday trial practice.

West expanded her courtroom skills through formal training and certification. She completed trial advocacy training through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) and also holds a Notary Public commission in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In 2013 she served as an instructor for the National Business Institutes, sharing practical litigation techniques with other practitioners.

Active in the local legal community, she has been a member of the Fairfax County Bar Association since 2011 and joined the Prince William County Bar Association in 2014. Those memberships reflect ongoing ties to the Northern Virginia bar and to colleagues across county lines.

Her work centers on litigation and trial practice. The combination of hands-on litigation at an insurance company and formal trial advocacy training informs how she approaches case preparation, motion practice and courtroom presentation. She applies methods learned in NITA programs to real-world disputes and focuses on delivering clear, organized arguments when cases proceed to trial.

Professionally she handles matters in Virginia and maintains involvement in county bar activities. Her record shows an early career rooted in insurance litigation and a continuing professional interest in courtroom advocacy. She practices in Virginia, concentrating on trial and litigation matters.
