About A. Kassi
A. Kassi Rigney earned a law degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2004 after completing an undergraduate degree in accounting and finance at Grand Valley State University in 2001. The combination of legal training and a background in numbers shaped an early interest in matters that require close attention to detail. He moved quickly from campus to courthouse.
Rigney began his legal career in public service. In 2005 he joined the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office as a deputy prosecuting lawyer. That role placed him in the daily grind of courtroom practice. He handled filings, prepared witnesses and took part in hearings and trials. The experience offered repeated exposure to litigation and to the procedural demands of criminal cases in a large county setting.
After more than a decade of practice, he left public prosecution and turned to private practice. In 2017 he became the founding partner of Rigney Law. The firm operates in Indiana and appears in federal court when cases require it. His professional credentialing includes admission to the bar in Indiana and to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, which permits him to represent clients in both state and federal proceedings.
Over the years Rigney has balanced courtroom work with the management responsibilities of running a small firm. As founding partner he oversees case strategy, client intake and the administrative side of the practice. He draws on his prior prosecutorial work when handling matters that involve litigation, filings and courtroom procedure. Colleagues note that he brings a practical orientation to casework, shaped by years in public and private practice.
Outside of the day-to-day docket, Rigney maintains membership in professional associations relevant to his work. He participates in bar activities and keeps up with continuing legal education requirements. That ongoing involvement keeps him current on rule changes and procedural developments in Indiana and in federal practice.
He continues to practice through Rigney Law LLC in Indiana. He represents clients in matters that proceed in Indiana courts and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and he remains engaged in litigation and counsel work at the firm.
