About A. Edward Hardin
A. Edward Hardin Jr. took a traditional path into law. He earned a B.A. from Spring Hill College in 1990 and returned to Louisiana for his J.D. at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, graduating in 1997. Those years set the foundation for a career centered in Baton Rouge and on the federal courts that serve Louisiana.
Hardin built his practice at Kean Miller LLP, where he is a partner. He has been admitted to practice in Louisiana and in several federal forums, including the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. That range of admissions reflects work that reaches beyond state trial courts and into appellate and federal-court litigation.
Colleagues describe him as steady in the courtroom and practical at the conference table. He has handled matters that required appearances in federal district courts and at the appellate level. His courtroom experience is underpinned by the academic training he received at LSU and the early professional years that followed law school.
Hardin’s professional affiliations include active memberships in the Louisiana State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, and the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit. These memberships have kept him connected to developments in federal practice and to peers across the region. He also holds admission to practice before the nation’s highest court.
Outside the office, Hardin has invested time in community organizations. He has served on the board of Alzheimer’s Services of Baton Rouge since 2006. Earlier in his civic work, he served on the board of the Big Buddy Program of Baton Rouge from 1996 to 2006. He has volunteered with the Community Partnership Division of the Capital Area United Way and has served on a committee and acted as solicitor for the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. In his parish, he is a member and lector at St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
Those roles reflect a blend of professional practice and local involvement. He balances firm responsibilities with long-standing commitments to nonprofit boards and parish activities. His colleagues at Kean Miller LLP point to that steadiness as part of his professional profile.
Hardin continues to practice at Kean Miller LLP, handling matters in state and federal courts, including appellate proceedings in the Fifth Circuit and filings before the U.S. Supreme Court.
